Ceramica
Artisan Maison is housed in a building dating back to 1894. Due to the bombings during World War II that hit it, some parts of the structure were damaged, such as sections of the flooring, which were restored with bricks from a different era than the original ones. This discontinuity from the rest of the apartment gave us ample margin to recreate the room in a modern style, while simultaneously trying to reintroduce the same materials that originally characterized the environment.
We achieved this goal thanks to the contribution of local artisans who, using traditional production techniques and a bit of imagination, allowed us to create unique components by combining and reusing the building’s original materials.
At the center of the room, one of the structure’s quirky beds is supported on a single leg, accompanied by ceramic trays fixed to the wall and lampshades made from antique porcelain bowls.
